Lobster shack (In & Out) @ Cod and Co, Westfields, Sydney CBD
✦ I’m a bit slow on posting this one as the pop up even is already over, however I thought I’d let all those that missed out know – you didn’t miss much!
✦ After seeing around 50 or so posts and articles about this pop up event hosted by America’s famous In&Out burger chain, I succumbed and went along to try it out.
✦ Lines were super long and it took ages for the food to be ready – kinda good I guess as each is made ‘fresh’
✦ For $35 bucks you get a lobster tail roll with Maine lobster and a side of truffle fries.
✦ The fries were decent, crunchy with a good smattering of truffle salt though a bit on the small side.
✦ The lobster roll was not as attractive as the pictures posted. A long soft bun on a bed of slaw with a seafood like sauce. The lobster flesh itself as a bit on the softer/slimier side of lobsters I’ve had and the tail was cold and seemed to have been just whacked on separately as a garnish (was it even from the same lobster tail??)
✦ The taste? Well lobster flavour is very subtle and it was just lost amongst the proportion of bun and also the overpowering sauce – I was disappointed.
✦ I’d suggest popping down to your local Chinese seafood restaurant for a ginger and shallot lobster instead.
