Ripples @ Milsons Point, Sydney, North
✦ Along with Aqua dining , Ripples is situated right under the Sydney harbour bridge on the North side of Sydney. As you can see below, it has amazing views of the harbour on a sunny day. As with Aqua dining, it is a pain (or exorbitantly expensive) to find parking nearby however so be prepared.
✦ Great place for a casual lunch time catch up or a place to bring overseas friends to enjoy the views. Avoid if it is a rainy/windy day as it is quite an open setting with only some cafe blinds as cover.
✦ Service is great and quick with the Italian inspired food coming out promptly, though price is a tad on the high side with the dishes average.
Mussels in a Tuscan sauce with sourdough – $20 – the sauce here was amazing. So rich and flavoursome – worth asking for more bread just to mop it up.
250g sirloin with pickled cabbage, fried polenta and semi-dried tomatoes -$36 – the cabbage was a bit sour for my liking but the steak was cooked well and juicy.
Pasta with prawn and chorizo in a tomato based sauce – $32 – the chorizo added the flavour to an otherwise blandish dish.
